Easter is going to be egg-ceptional at the National Aquarium of New Zealand. A special hunt for shark eggs and a mermaid on a mission will keep both kids and adults entertained this upcoming holiday weekend.
Fintastic Egg Hunt
Sharks are amazing in many different ways, but did you know that some species of shark can lay eggs? They can be found in many different shapes and colours, and in the past used to be referred to as 'Mermaid Purses' due to their leathery outer shell.
This Easter bring the family along to take part in a completely different kind of egg hunt. Learn more about shark eggs, see if you can spot them around the aquarium and solve the puzzle to go in the draw to win a JAW-some prize pack.
Mermaid Encounters
We're super excited to have Mermaid Ria at the National Aquarium. She will be swimming in the Pania Reef tank over Easter to raise awareness about care and conservation of the ocean.
Visitors will be able to take part in a special question and answer session with Mermaid Ria, and we also have the option available of purchasing a special VIP ticket to have a personal meet and greet and photo with her as well (Please Note: pre-registration and additional ticket purchase essential through National Aquarium website, tickets are limited).
